TAML‘s Author and His Team Win the State Second-Class Natural Sciences Award of 2014

TAML's author Yapu Zhao and his team has won the State Second-Class Natural Sciences Award of 2014 for their research “Physical mechanics investigation of surface effects in NEMS/MEMS”. This award, which is regarded as one of the highest awards in China is to recognize scientists and to honor major breakthroughs in fundamental research.

The award-winning research was published in Yapu Zhao’s review article “Moving contact line problem: Advances and perspectives” (Theor. Appl. Mech. Lett. 4, 034002 (2014)). In this review, related researches were showed, along with summary of major advances and future directions in this field. This work has attracted great interest among TAML readers and received more than 1600 downloads since published.

The National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on January 9, 2015. Leaders of the CPC and the state Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Liu Yunshan, etc., attended the conference and presented certificates to representatives of the award winners.
